Position Description:
The Accountant is responsible for all payroll related functions for the Department of Surgery business office and all faculty (140 FTE). The position maintains accurate Workday records and partakes in the month end close by preparing monthly reports and analyzing financial data.  The Accountant will be a liaison with two divisions preparing monthly variance reports and other regular monthly financial and operational reports. The position is responsible for ordering office supplies, daily purchase orders and accounts payable duties to assure they comply with Penn Medicine guidelines. The Accountant will assist the Sr. Finance Manager and CFO as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field) is required. Relevant experience (at least 2-3 years) is preferred.

-Great attention to detail required.
-Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple tasks with deadlines and pressure, adjusting work schedules to meet deadlines.
-Ability to work with standard software packages in a Windows-based environment. Experience with Umis, Workday, Lawson, Hyperion Planning, BEN financials and Business Objects helpful, but not required.
-Individual must be of sound character, possessing the following traits:
