Position Description:
• The Administrative Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who is administratively responsible for the efficient coordination of patient care activities. AC’s are responsible for the delivery of safe, customer-focused, efficient care during their shift, in accordance with nationally accepted standards of nursing care and practice, and monitors standards established by the Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies. Responsible to support, teach, encourage all clinical staff, and monitor patient care. Will keep the nursing managers or department directors informed of any issues that need to be resolved.

1. Directs all nursing staff on assigned shift for all units. Assigns personnel to units including the float pool, companion pool, floating and furlough of staff.
2. Provides guidance, supervision, direction and assistance to nursing personnel
3. Works with staff to resolve problems concerning nursing care issues.
4. Uses proper judgment in controlling cost.
5. Monitor ED throughput to ensure timely bed placement.
6. Collaborate with nurse managers and/or charge nurses to assist in bed management.

1. Interprets and oversees nursing policy and procedures in the delivery of care.
2. Counsels employees and initiates disciplinary action as necessary.
3. Demonstrates leadership ability and management skills.
4. Serves as a role model for nursing employees.
5. Responds to all emergency situations within the facility including but not limited to the initiation of the Incident Command Center.
6. Promotes cooperative relationships with other departments.
7. Monitors global operations to ensure timely delivery of patient care in a cost effective manner that maintains Joint Commission and Department of Health standards.
8. Communicates with the Administrator on Call as necessary.
9. Accountable for improving patient care through adherence to all patient safety and quality standards, regulations, and best practices.
10. Performs other duties or projects as assigned by the Manager of Nursing Resources.

Minimum Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of
• Master's degree - preferred

Related Work Experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Hospital setting
• More than 5 years experience preferred

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey
• Basic Life Support Certificate for HealthCare providers (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS) preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS) preferred
