The RSF Ambulatory Nurse II is responsible for nursing services performed within the HUP-RSF (Reproductive Surgical Facility). In collaboration with the healthcare team, the position implements processes that provide patient care in a surgical setting. The RSF Ambulatory Nurse II demonstrates confident clinical knowledge in the pre-op, peri-operative and post-op setting and responds appropriately. The RSF Ambulatory Nurse II is expected to become proficient in the clinical specialty of fertility.
The Ambulatory Nurse II possesses the knowledge, skills and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum. The Ambulatory Nurse II exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains.
The Ambulatory Nurse II independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from puberty to the elderly, with the focus on reproductive age women. The Ambulatory Nurse II demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork.
The Ambulatory Nurse II works closely with the inter professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age appropriate considerations of assigned patients. The Ambulatory Nurse II seeks feedback in assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice. The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and values.
Registered Nurse with active PA state licensure. BLS, ACLS required. National or specialty based certification preferred. BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing with 15 months or more of relevant professional nursing experience required.
