The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology has an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Inpatient Gastroenterology (GUT) team medically managing a wide array of gastrointestinal complaints, diseases and disorders in patients admitted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
This GI focused APP inpatient position will likely evolve with time as the needs and demands of the service change with our established GI consultative services at HUP, expansion services at HUP East and with potential for cross coverage as needed at HUP Cedar. Responsibilities shall include daily team rounds and inpatient GI consults. The team is comprised of GI faculty and GI Fellow(s) alongside house staff at respective locations. The number and type of consults will vary during the day in indication, acuity, and locations. The inpatient GI APP role may expand to where needed and based on inpatient volumes, to include some direct outpatient care in our Perelman Center Acute and Transitional GI (ATG) clinic for patients discharged from the hospital.

The high acuity clinical practice setting is dynamic, fast-paced, and high pressure.
