Position Description:
ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly) is a 24 bed medical surgical unit with a specialized focus on patients 65 and older.  Our primary goal and objective is to ensure an excellent patient experience by providing our patients and families with the highest quality of nursing care. An example of some diagnoses that are treated on the ACE Unit are: UTI, Sepsis, CHF, Falls, Pneumonia, COPD, Cancer, GI Bleed, Hospice, Dementia, in addition to managing co-morbidities. ACE also admits patients requiring surgical intervention and post-operative care.  While managing the mentioned diagnosis, some of the clinical skills performed on a daily basis consist of: trach care, peg tubes, foley care, chest tubes, central lines, j/p drains, wound care, complex medication administration, blood administration and constant communication with the interdisciplinary team.

A professional Registered Nurse who is responsible for the direct supervision of nursing staff which is accomplished by: maintaining open lines
of communication with staff and management; providing resource information as requested and overseeing the delivery of safe and clinically
competent nursing care that is evidenced based.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in
pursuit of.

Related Work Experience:

At least 3-5 years experience working as an RN - preferred.


Active Registered Nurse License in the state of NJ. Basic Life Saving Certificate (BLS) - required
Specialty certification - preferred.

Communication Skills
Physical Strength, Agility and Stamina
