Provides reference and bibliographic services, as well as orientation and training on the use of library resources, including electronic resources, in a manner that supports the educational and research mission of the organization. Coordinates resources, services, and requests of the Consumer Health Library. Coordinates and maintains the library web pages on myPartner. Works with and supports HealthPartners/Park Nicollet staff in the development, distribution, and delivery of medical knowledge. Clients include administrative, medical, nursing, allied health staffs, HP/PN team members and patients and their families, in addition to individuals and organizations affiliated with HP/PN.



Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Management with a minimum of 1-2 years’ library experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years’ experience in a health science library, medical library, or hospital library.
Previous experience in a health science or medical library and teaching adult learners preferred.



Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

• Experience with online database searching and familiarity with a wide range of electronic resources, including NLM databases (PubMed, MedlinePlus), the Internet, and other electronic resources (including CINAHL, PsycInfo, Cochrane Library, ClinicalKey, Ebsco databases). Skills in formulating search strategies.
• Strong skills in interpersonal relations, leadership and verbal and written communication. The ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to develop effective working relationships with various departments on projects involving library resources.
• Knowledge of web development and maintenance, experience with online catalog systems and knowledge of standards and practices for interlibrary loan/document delivery and relevant U.S. copyright law desirable.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice and information literacy.
• Working knowledge of digital environment including EMR (Electronic Medical Record), WordPress, SharePoint, LibGuide, social media and mobile apps.
• Working knowledge of internet infrastructure: experience with HTML, HTTP protocol, URLs, Proxy Servers, Content Management Systems not required but highly desirable.
• Ability to maintain (navigate, create content and update) Intranet site and online resources.
• Ability to evaluate, organize and make accessible knowledge-based resources.
• Facilitation, instruction, and presentation skills for both small and large groups.
• Excellent organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
