What You Will Do
Provide senior level design, programming, and maintenance for automation, controls and SCADA projects and facilities.
Provide advanced design and technically creative support for gas measurement, regulation, and recording devices and equipment through theoretical and practical application of highly specialized information including but not limited to:
- Chromatographs and other gas quality instrumentation
- Gas Conditioning Equipment
- Telemetering systems
- Electronic odorization systems
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Flow computers
- Meter tubes and orifice plates
- Ultrasonic Meters
- Coriolis Meters
- Satellite equipment
- Digital pressure recorders
- Other supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and remote terminal units and equipment
Calculate, prepare, and maintain various records and reports including but not limited to:
- Assist with scoping and site investigations.
- Assist with Work Order preparation and assist with approval process.
- Prepare and review project drawings and diagrams and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure variance from construction drawings are well documented and provided for tech closing.
- Material requisitions and purchase orders
- Project status reports
Design, program, observe, train, and assist employees in construction, maintenance, and operation of compressor station control systems including but not limited to:
- HMI interface
- Compressor Control and Shutdown systems
- Air systems
- Electrical power distribution system including standby generators.
- Other compressor station auxiliary equipment.
Provide Technical assistance for installing new or updating existing PLC's, EFM, Regulators, Gas Chromatographs for safe and reliable gas service with a focus on compression or measurement facilities.
Design control system for various facilities including but not limited to:
- Compressor stations
- Meter stations
- Electronic odorization
- EFM
- Digital pressure recorders.
Provide field support for controls, automation, measurement, odorization, and SCADA facilities.
Develop project scopes, detail design and estimates for capital projects related to controls, automation, measurement, odorization, and SCADA facilities. Assist engineering with the Work Order development and approval process, work execution, expenditure tracking, and project closing.
Develop and maintain design schematics and drawings including as-builts for controls, automation, measurement, odorization, and SCADA facilities.
Maintain back-up copies of all software solutions and documentation for KGS controls, automation, measurement, odorization, and SCADA facilities.
Provide field support of controls, automation, measurement, odorization, and SCADA construction projects and provide project status reports as required. Oversee facility start-up and commissioning.
Prepare RFQ's and material requisitions for controls-related equipment and materials. Process material receipts and invoices.
Assist with testing and evaluation of new equipment. Utilizing independent decision making to recommend and approve system improvements as needed for Control and SCADA systems.
Work with field management to develop short and long-term capital improvement plans. Provide input for O&M and capital budgets as required.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

What You Will Need
Relevant Associates degree, technical degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Controls Engineering or Electrical
Knowledge and experience in programming industrial controllers such as PLC's. Familiarity with IEC 61131 preferred.
Knowledge and experience in HMI application development including displays, alarming, and historical trending.
Knowledge and experience with control system design.
Knowledgeable of National Electric Code and ability to apply Code requirements to facility designs.
Proficient at AutoCad design software and Microsoft Office applications.
Familiar with data communication protocols and troubleshoot data communication issues.
Experience integrating various hardware devices to provide seamless inter-operability.
Experience and proficient at project management through the entire project lifecycle including scope development, design, work order preparation, material acquisition, execution, documentation, start-up/commissioning and work order closure.
Experience at providing troubleshooting assistance to field operating personnel by phone, remote dial-in, or on-site as required.
Demonstrated ability to lead and solve problems independently.
Experience and training related to:
- Electronic measuring/testing devices
- Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
- Atmospheric corrosion control
- Leakage remediation
- Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
- Emergency response procedures
- Communications skills/customer relations
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience researching, compiling, and preparing job orders, reports, budgets, and correspondence.
Electrician's License preferred
Applicable driver's license
Fine motor skills for making minute adjustments.
Drive for extended periods.
Operate tools and equipment required.
Able to assist employees in performance of routine and emergency activities such as construction and maintenance; pipeline and meter testing; and corrosion control.
Communicate and exchange information or instructions including use of two way radios.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
