Role Summary: As a Financial Accountant II, you’ll play a key role in supporting critical accounting and financial functions within a highly regulated energy environment. In this position, you’ll perform intermediate-level accounting activities such as preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial results, and supporting forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reporting. You’ll apply your analytical skills to evaluate cash flows, financial ratios, depreciation, variances, and projections—helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and informed decision-making.

What You Will Do
Performs intermediate level of accounting and financial activities; analyzes and prepares related studies and reports for use in various accounting functions (as specified by position).
Analyze and/or prepare journal entries, records, account reconciliations, reports, and budgets related to accounting, or finance.
Development and maintenance of applicable spreadsheet models and distributed applications such as those used in finance and other accounting activities.
Verify and/or perform calculations and analyses including:
- Cash flow
- Financial ratios
- Actual to forecast and historical period variance analysis Depreciations (book)
- Rate/tariff schedules
- Projections/forecasts
- Allocations
Compile, verify, and/or prepare a variety of financial information including but not limited to:
- Actual to forecast and historical period variance analysis
- Governmental/regulatory reports
- Invoices
- Financial reports
- Reconciliation reports
- Quarterly income statements
Provide information and assistance to employees from governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management, and others concerning accounting processes and various financial reports.
Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and applicable Regulatory Requirements.
Make recommendations to improve departmental job, processes and procedures
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

What You Will Need
Preferred Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, or other related field.
Experience with and knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate, exchange information, share knowledge, collaborate, and provide guidance to internal and external customers.
Experience performing an intermediate level of accounting activities such as financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting.
Experience with application of math, algebra, and statistical methods.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Experience and/or training related to:
- Spreadsheet and word processing software applications
- Financial accounting and reporting standards and processes
- Regulated accounting activities and terminology
Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, studies, and correspondence applicable to position.
Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, accounting-related publications.
Demonstrated ability to develop and present information to individuals and groups.
Read and write fluently in English.
No certifications required.
Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
