Posting Description
RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, Center for Sustainability Science & Strategy, will assess how energy and industrial systems interact with natural resources, ecosystems, and society, and how different decarbonization pathways affect environmental and social sustainability. The work will inform decisions about pathways that reduce emissions while accounting for resource constraints, environmental impacts, and tradeoffs across sectors. The scientist will collaborate with economists; energy, land, water, air, and infrastructure modelers; climate and social scientists; statisticians; and software engineers. The scientist will be an important part of CS3’s MATRIX project, which aims to develop and apply a flexible, modular, multi-sector, cross-scale human–climate–impacts modeling framework to assess sustainability impacts and tradeoffs.
