Posting Description

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, URGENT CARE (PSR), MIT Health, is responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling; front desk tasks, including check-in, collecting copays, and obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information; administrative tasks, including phone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, and scheduling appointments and procedures to coordinate within and across providers, service areas, and healthcare facilities; has extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone; interacts with internal and external stakeholders by effectively communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate management of complex patient issues; and provides positive and effective customer service that supports departmental operations.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED equivalent; a minimum of two years of relevant experience (e.g. customer service or administrative); ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and to communicate with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff in pleasant, calming, and diplomatic manner; solid organizational skills and the ability to follow through and complete tasks; math proficiency. ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy; ability to work independently or within a team environment and to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.

The PSR will work two 8 hour shifts and two 12 hour shifts (7:30 am - 8:30 pm) per week, one weekend shift every third weekend, and holidays.
