Posting Description

EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT AND RECRUITING LEAD, Career Advising & Professional Development, manages the on-campus recruiting program for Career Advising & Professional Development (CAPD); strengthens existing employer relationships, develops new ones, and increases internship and job opportunities for students, while coordinating employer outreach and relations activities. The role builds ties with MIT departments, programs, and student clubs to expand student access to diverse industries and fields. This position sits on the Career Services team within CAPD, which helps students develop and implement their career plans. Will lead employer outreach, including direct meetings and visits, and engage employers from niche backgrounds; organize employer programs such as site visits, coffee chats, and on-campus or virtual recruiting events; meet with employers and assist with scheduling; partner with the Associate Director to build relationships across MIT departments and labs, expand employer access to resources, and drive initiatives to diversify employers; help shape recruiting policies and resolve employer relations issues; produce employer-related content for newsletters, webpages, and social media; support planning of career fairs with the Events team; serve as liaison for a career community, maintaining resources and employer relationships for that population; and provide career advising, workshops, and programming, using culturally responsive practices to serve MIT's diverse community.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; a minimum of three years of experience in career development or recruiting; strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills; familiarity with career services technology; ability to build relationships across a research institution; high ethical standards, cross-cultural awareness, and commitment to diverse populations; and enthusiasm for MIT's mission, student development, and effective teamwork.
