Posting Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health, seeks to support a collaborative research program between the laboratories of Professor Ömer Yilmaz, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and Department of Biology, and Professor Regina Barzilay, CSAIL and Jameel Clinic. The project focuses on the biology of hair growth and pigmentation and will combine experimental stem cell biology, human and mouse model systems, and machine learning approaches for phenotyping, target discovery, and therapeutic evaluation. Will be hired by the MIT Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health and work closely with both laboratories; and will design and execute research studies, analyze experimental data, collaborate across the research teams, contribute to publications and presentations, and help advance the scientific objectives of this interdisciplinary program.

 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, biomedical engineering, computational biology, computer science, or a related field by the start date; strong research background in experimental biology, stem cell biology, mammalian model systems, computational biology, machine learning, or a closely related area; demonstrated ability to design, execute, analyze, and interpret independent research studies; excellent written and oral communication skills; and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary research environment.
