Posting Description

Digital Communications SpecialistMIT School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P), to help shape the school’s digital presence across web, social media, email, and emerging platforms while managing day-to-day digital publishing and contributing to the broader communications strategy; create and curate compelling content that brings together architecture, urban planning, design, media arts and showcases the school’s research, teaching, exhibitions, public programs, and initiatives, drawing from departments, labs, centers, and institutes across the school.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, design, or related field; minimum three years’ experience in digital communications, preferably in higher education, the cultural sector, or mission-driven organization; solid writing and editing skills, ability to adjust tone for different audiences and platforms; demonstrated ability to exercise independent editorial judgment in managing institutional digital communications; experience managing social media accounts and publishing web content, including familiarity with accessibility, SEO, and AEO best practices; experience working with CMS and email marketing platforms such as Drupal and Mailchimp; basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with analytics tools (eg: Google Analytics); solid organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, accessible content for diverse audiences across multiple digital channels. PREFERRED: Experience working in a small team/independently managing digital channels; short-form video or visual content production for digital platforms; familiarity with architecture, urban planning, design, or related disciplines.
