Posting Description

ACCESS SERVICES ASSOCIATE, Libraries - Hayden Library, to work in a dynamic library environment while gaining experience in access services and information delivery. Responsibilities include providing in-person support for library services, collections, and equipment; interpreting policies and procedures; opening and closing the library; and assisting with staff and student training. In collaboration with the Collections Strategist for print collections, conducts collections storage and withdrawal projects for items moving into and out of the Hayden stacks. Additional duties include collections maintenance, statistics and reporting, shelving, material processing, service improvements, and participation in library-wide projects and committees.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of two years of related library or customer service experience; strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills; proficiency with library catalogs and standard business software; the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment; and ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities. PREFERRED: Associate or Bachelor’s degree; academic or research library experience; and familiarity with systems such as Alma or ILLiad, training experience, and data management skills using tools such as Excel or Tableau.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., push or pull loaded carts up to 150 lbs., move boxes, and tolerate exposure to dust.
