FINANCE AND OPERATIONS ASSISTANT, MIT Press, works closely with the Finance & Operations team, providing administrative support. Established in 1962, the MIT Press is one of the largest and most distinguished university presses in the world and a leading publisher of books and journals at the intersection of science, technology, art, social science, and design. MIT Press books and journals are known for their intellectual daring, scholarly standards, interdisciplinary focus, and distinctive design.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of three years administrative or financial support experience; excellent writing and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion; comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; and a collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn Press-wide systems and operations. PREFERRED: Finance, accounting, publishing and/or higher education experience and experience with financial and/or publishing systems (such as SAP, Biblio, Office).
