Posting Description

MANAGER, OFF-SITES FACILITIES, Campus Services and Stewardship (CSS), to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for MIT’s geographically dispersed off-site facilities portfolio comprised of leased and owned properties totaling approximately 750,000 square feet across 39 buildings. Direct facilities operations, maintenance, repair, and capital renewal activities to ensure alignment with Institute standards and long-term infrastructure strategies; to lead mid- and long-term planning integrating construction, maintenance, financial management, and vendor services into a cohesive program; to oversee budget development, capital planning, and program performance while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence; to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery and regulatory compliance; to advise senior leadership on facility conditions, risk management, and capital investment priorities; to influence Institute-wide facilities strategy and planning decisions; and to ensure 24/7 operational readiness, providing leadership during emergencies including system failures, weather events, and security incidents.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field; a minimum of ten years of progressive facilities or operations management experience; demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-site operations; strong financial, planning, and vendor management skills.

This position is primarily on-site with travel to all offsite locations including Cambridge, Middleton, Lexington, and Westford required.
