Posting Description

IT SECURITY ENGINEER, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T), will be a subject matter expert and final escalation point for cybersecurity events, applying analytical expertise and technical knowledge of networks and systems to protect the Institute’s digital infrastructure. Will independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve sophisticated security issues from phishing and threat analysis to incident response and prevention.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of five years of experience in cybersecurity, information systems, or another related field, understanding of email systems, common phishing techniques, and experience analyzing raw email headers in text format, understanding of networking concepts such as network segmentation and isolation, routing, client-server communications, ARP, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP/S, RDP, SSH, FTP, etc; understanding of system administration concepts such as operating system patching and lifecycle, scheduled tasks, administration of services , and common log types such as syslog, json, M365, message trace, IDP logs, and Windows Security Log. Comfortable utilizing a command line on Windows, MacOS, and Linux; and familiarity with software engineering and application development concepts such as dlls and shared object libraries, memory allocation and abuse, packaging and dependencies, etc.

This is a full-time remote position.
