Posting Description

COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST, MIT Press, to lead writing, messaging, and digital communications that advance the Press’s fundraising and overall communications priorities. Working closely with the Press Director, the role produces donor-facing narratives, grant proposals, campaign messaging, impact stories, partnership communications, and stewardship materials. The Communications Strategist also supports digital and social media, coordinates cross-Press initiatives, and manages routine communications tasks.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of three years of communications experience; exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment; familiarity with social media and digital communications tools; comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; familiarity with social media platforms, basic analytics, and content production; and collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn Press-wide systems and operations. PREFERRED: Publishing and/or higher education experience; grant-writing experience; and advanced degree in relevant field.
