LAB DATA MANAGER, TSAI LAB, Picower Institute for Learning & Memory, to design, implement, and maintain our lab’s data infrastructure, protocol library, and digital notetaking system; partner closely with scientists to standardize workflows, ensure data quality, and enforce best-practice policies—enabling our team to scale experiments reproducibly and accelerate discovery; be responsible for Data Architecture & Management; Data Analysis; Protocol Curation & Versioning; Notetaking & Policy Enforcement; Cross-Functional Collaboration; Governance & Continuous Improvement; and performs other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field; a minimum 5-7 years of related work experience working in a wet-lab; demonstrated experience designing/managing relational databases or LIMS; proficiency with scripting (e.g., Python, SQL) and version control (Git); familiarity with wet-lab workflows and molecular-biology protocols; strong communication skills and confidence enforcing policies across diverse teams; skilled at analyzing and communicating (written and verbal) scientific information across different topic areas at a level of detail appropriate for different audiences; ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines; versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with multiple priorities; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; and the interpersonal skills necessary to promote collaboration and cooperation among teams and other leading laboratories. PREFERRED: Advanced degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Bioengineering, Computer Science or related fields; 10+ years’ related work experience; proven experience designing and implementing data archiving and analysis systems; direct experience with mouse behavioral, sequencing, or high-content imaging projects; prior implementation of electronic lab notebook systems; and knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP).
