PROGRAM MANAGER, ADVANCING HUMANS WITH AI (AHA), Media Lab, develop and execute comprehensive program strategy aligned with MIT Media Lab's mission and AHA's research objectives and coordinate cross-disciplinary research teams and collaborative projects; to plan and execute conferences, workshops, and symposiums, and coordinate speaker recruitment, including renowned researchers, industry leaders, and ethicists.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of three years of operations experience in a project/program management role; demonstrated experience in fundraising and partnership development; expertise in event management and conference organization; demonstrated experience with managing priorities and shifting demands in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines and milestones in a proactive, can-do manner; highly organized; proficiency in project management software (Asana, Monday.com, or similar); grant writing and proposal development experience; exceptional communicator; both written, verbal and presentation skills including copyediting, writing original content; cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; skilled at working autonomously with excellent collaboration and team-focused skills; skilled with MS Office suite, Google Apps, and aptitude for learning new software; and ability to work with diverse stakeholders from technical and non-technical backgrounds. PREFERRED: Deep interest in the impact of AI on society and the human experience; Master's degree in relevant field (Communications, Business Administration, Science Policy, or related); five years of program management experience, in academic or research settings; experience with social media; experience with fundraising; ability to synthesize technical information with decision-making with selecting vendors and contractors; project management experience (certification (PMP); advanced knowledge of social media management platforms; website management experience (CMS platforms, basic HTML/CSS knowledge preferred); data analysis capabilities for tracking program metrics and ROI; and experience with academic research environments.

 

This appointment is at 60% level of effort and is one-year with the possibility of extension based on the course of research and funding.

This is a hybrid position, with 3 days a week, or as needed, required onsite in Cambridge, MA.
