Posting Description

REAL ESTATE POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Center for Real Estate (MIT/CRE), will report directly to Albert Saiz, Professor of Urban Economics and Real Estate at the MIT/CRE and the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning; perform independent research in areas including Urban Economics, Housing, Real Estate Finance, the impact of immigration on local economies, and the interaction between markets and housing affordability; publish, present, and disseminate research to the global community; collaborate with MIT/CRE professors in their research; work with private, industry and/or government research sponsors to apply for research grants; help identify projects and write case studies in urban economics and real estate finance and may assist in teaching if interested.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, GIS, Operations, Engineering, or Applied Math with  demonstrated compatible research interests; proven skills in data analytics, statistics, and econometrics; excellent writing and verbal communication; proactive, optimistic approach to problem-solving, and time management; ability to incubate and envision new, innovative research projects and successfully manage their implementation; computer skills: Statistical (as many as possible among): Stata, R, MATLAB, Python, ArcGIS10 or QGIS (or commitment to learn). PREFFERED: A Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, and related fields. Job #24872
