Posting Description

DEPUTY DIRECTOR, Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC), to play a crucial leadership role in advancing the center's mission to explore and develop fusion energy and plasma science.  This executive position involves strategic planning, overseeing research initiatives, and fostering collaborations with academic, governmental, and industrial partners. Will work closely with the director to shape the center's vision, secure funding, and ensure the successful execution of projects.  Key responsibilities include overseeing large-scale scientific infrastructure and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  master’s or other advanced degree in science, engineering, or business management; seven years of management or related experience; understanding of fusion technology and related scientific fields; demonstrated leadership skills and research leadership experience; experience managing complex research projects; strong interpersonal and communication skills for extensive interaction with diverse stakeholders; and discretion and judgment with confidential information and/or issues.  Job #24360
