Job Description

FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR 2, Office of the Vice President for Research-Research Administration Services (RAS), to join the post-award/research finance team in central research administration.  Will advise RAS’ teams and departments, labs, centers, and institutes (DLCI) on financial issues related to MIT and sponsor policies; develop and maintain best practices for consortium structure and management; review and distribute over-expenditure reports; assist with approval of subaward invoices, review closeouts, collaborate with sponsored accounting on billing and closeout issues; work closely with ACAs on award financial data and terms; address DLCI questions on award setups and status of accounts; prepare funding reports by principal investigator (PI), sponsor, and activity type; perform analysis and forensic accounting for grant and contract reconciliation problems; proactively address shortfalls; assist Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) with resolution prior to closeout; review and adjust cost sharing during course of project to ensure compliance and reporting; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least three years of experience in an academic setting and/or with grant accounting; and strong communication and organizational skills.  Job #24047-7
