Job Description

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, URGENT CARE, MIT Health, to be responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling in a highly visible position with extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone.  Responsibilities will include front desk reception (e.g., check-in, collecting copays, obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information, etc.) and administration (e.g., telephone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, etc.); scheduling appointments and procedures in coordination with and across providers, service areas, and institutions; collaborating and effectively communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate the management of complex patient issues; and providing effective customer service that supports departmental operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  high school diploma or GED; at least two years of experience in a customer service or administrative role; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; and effective telephone skills and ability to communicate diplomatically with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff.  PREFERRED:  experience in a health care setting.  Job #23931-4
