Job Description

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER, MIT.nano, to play a key role in implementing and maintaining MIT.nano’s lab management system--NanoFab Equipment Management & Operations (NEMO).  MIT.nano is a large shared services facility with over 1,000 users and hundreds of tools and instruments. NEMO, developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is an open-source web application used to schedule reservations, enable/disable tools, track maintenance issues, track tool usage, and more.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree in a computer science or any relevant engineering field; three years of relevant experience developing documentation for procedures, online services, and/or experience composing user guides and other written materials for lab protocols and software products; ability to independently carry out data analysis; demonstrated proficiency navigating software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, materials or learning and development programs; proficiency with applications support and basic IT; experience with API development and server-side programming languages such as Python or Java; ability to troubleshoot; meticulous attention to detail, quality, accuracy, and time sensitivity; excellent planning, organizational, presentation, analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; familiarity with network protocols and data storage management; and an interest in delving into complex problems.  Seek a self-starter who is able to work both independently and as an integral member of a dynamic team.  PREFERRED: experience with NEMO LMS.  Job #23890-8
