Job Description

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, MIT Health (2 openings), to be responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling in a highly visible position that involves extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone.  Will be responsible for the front desk (e.g., check in, collecting co-pays, obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information, etc.) and administrative duties (e.g., telephone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, etc.); scheduling appointments and procedures in coordination within and across providers, service areas, and institutions; collaborating and effectively communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate the management of complex patient issues; and providing effective customer service in support of departmental operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  high school diploma or GED; at least two years of related experience such as in a customer service or administrative role; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; effective telephone skills and ability to communicate diplomatically with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff; strong organizational and follow-through skills; math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy; and ability to work both independently or within a team-oriented environment.  PREFERRED:  experience in a health care setting.  Job #23870-4
