Job Description

SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE, Mathematics, to provide a wide range of support for HR administration as a member of the department’s headquarters team. Responsibilities include supporting onboarding and offboarding; maintaining databases/files/records; triaging and/or responding to routine HR inquiries; assisting managers with recruitment, including preparing forms, entering job requisitions, maintaining applicant tracking system, scheduling interviews, etc.; drafting and/or editing HR correspondence/presentations; running, reviewing, and acting on personnel reports; supporting administration of HR activities for community math programs; assisting with faculty leaves tracking and reporting; acting as primary contact for temporary agencies; processing a variety of HR transactions; assisting with planning and execution of staff meetings; and performing other duties as assigned.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years’ HR experience; sound judgment and discretion\ with sensitive/confidential information; excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, the internet, Outlook, Google, Zoom, email/calendaring, and reporting and database software; and ability to learn new apps/systems.  Must be able to prioritize and handle competing work assignments, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines despite interruptions in a fast-paced environment; take responsibility for own actions; follow and apply appropriate laws, regulations, and policies; demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work conditions/assignments; and work effectively with a variety of people at all levels.  PREFERRED:  professional experience in higher education; working knowledge of and experience with MIT systems; ability to analyze and create or improve processes/procedures; bachelor’s degree in business or HR management; working knowledge of HRIS, applicant tracking, and performance management software; and experience recruiting and onboarding employees.  Job #23835-6
