Job Description

DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT PLANNING AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES, Sloan School of Management-Office of External Relations (OER), to serve as an integral member of the OER leadership team and serve as a key strategic partner to those across Sloan and the Institute more broadly on fostering engagement between Sloan alumni and donors and Sloan faculty research and initiatives with the aim of philanthropic commitment.  Will manage campaign fundraising goals through initiative-specific analysis and communicate progress to senior leadership and faculty leads; work with the OER communications team on directing the marketing strategy to donors and partners and developing communications about initiative priorities, donor proposals, and other marketing materials; collaborate with others in OER to ensure alignment with event strategies; and partner with the executive director and the principal gifts team on creating principal gift opportunities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least five years’ experience, preferably in development, communications or donor relations in a nonprofit setting; one year of experience supervising staff, setting goals, and managing performance and budgets; ability to determine goals, set priorities, and handle diversified tasks concurrently; management experience; meticulous attention to detail; excellent analytical, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills; experience with strategic priority development and working closely with faculty, senior leadership, and administration; ability to develop trusted partnerships with staff; excellent writing skills, including the ability to write for a variety of audiences; and proficiency with alumni databases and standard PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).  Job #23496-11

Salary range:  $112,980 - 151,180 - 189,180, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.  Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

This role is eligible for a flexible work schedule that aligns with the Office of External Relations' policies.
