EVENTS AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT, Lemelson-MIT Program (LMIT), to join a national leader in efforts to prepare the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs. LMIT focuses on the expansion of opportunities for people to learn ways inventors find and solve problems that matter in order to improve lives. Will assist with the planning and operation of events and provide administrative support for LMIT’s educational program staff. Responsibilities include supporting high-profile events with planning, organization, invitations, registration, menu, name tags, presentation needs, list management, and following up with attendees; providing administrative support for Partners in Invention Education (PiE) and InvenTeam member schools, including assisting with outreach and communications, answering questions, directing financial inquiries, and tracking deadlines and goals; and providing administrative support for all programs, creating and tracking permissions and releases, conducting inventory supply management, creating activity kits for site visits and other gatherings, preparing mailings and shipping, and performing other duties as requested.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ program, administrative, office, or related experience; strong organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; good judgment with confidential information; and strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Google Docs, Dropbox, Trello, and web searches. Must be able to interact with diverse groups of individuals, remain flexible when prioritizing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously under the pressure of deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team. PREFERRED: associate’s degree; customer service experience; ability to lift/move boxes weighing up to 15 lbs.; and experience with web maintenance and Salesforce CRM, DocuSign, Canva, and Canvas.
