Job Description

SENIOR USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER, Open Learning, to create world-class, user-centered designs through consideration of competitive research, business requirements, customer feedback, and usability study findings.  Will ensure the experience is usable, useful, and desirable and supports all critical business, brand and learner/educator goals; translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements; design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new web and mobile applications; lead--in collaboration with business and development teams--the design, development, and maintenance of site or tool information architecture and navigation consistency for the integration of all new features; and develop conceptual flows, diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes to facilitate communication of designs to partners and stakeholders and for gathering user feedback.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree, preferably in human factors, interaction design, or a related field; at least five years of experience designing complex,  data-rich applications for web and mobile; strong portfolio of work showing interaction and visual design artifacts such as high-fidelity wireframes, screen comps, functional prototypes, and design patterns; ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing business environment; experience using qualitative user research methods; attention to detail; ability to work independently; comfort with ambiguity; and ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and diplomatically to a wide range of audiences. PREFERRED:  experience creating accessible designs (WCAG 2.0 AA).  Job #23074-10
