POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, McGovern Institute for Brain Research, to spearhead various technology development projects within the Abudayyeh-Gootenberg Lab, with a focus on climate change and sustainability. These projects encompass the exploration of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes for groundbreaking proteins and enzymes, as well as engineering and optimizing these enzymes for high performance in specific applications. The AbuGoot lab operates at the cutting edge of molecular tool development in gene/cell therapy, aging, and climate change/sustainability fields. Its fast-paced, dynamic environment nurtures creativity and leadership, with postdoctoral fellows typically leading multiple projects and teams within the lab. Responsibilities will include molecular cloning, protein design, bacterial assays, mammalian cell culture, directed evolution, and biochemistry; working closely with research technicians, students, and principal investigators; engaging with the scientific community through collaborations, conference talks, and publications.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in biological sciences, engineering, or related field; experience with mammalian cell culture, DNA assembly and characterization, high-throughput screening, molecular biology, and protein biochemistry; self-motivation; ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, team-oriented setting; strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills; desire to be an integral part of a cutting-edge research team; and ability to execute detailed technical protocols meticulously.
