PROGRAM COORDINATOR, SEED (SATURDAY ENGINEERING ENRICHMENT AND DISCOVERY) ACADEMY, Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP), to coordinate and perform day-to-day operational activities for and ensure the efficient operation of the SEED Academy, an academic-year, Saturday enrichment program for Boston area middle and high school students. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans for logistics, program events, related meetings, and orientations (virtual, hybrid, and in-person experiences); contributing to student and staff recruitment, application, and selection; communicating with current and prospective participants and a broad range of affiliated stakeholders; coordinating student/staff onboarding; maintaining sensitive information; coordinating vendors and purchasing materials/supplies; handling unexpected needs and issues; and guiding the work of others (e.g., temporary staff/interns) on routine activities. May contribute to and attend additional OEOP programs and alumni and fundraising events.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ administrative and/or project/program management experience. PREFERRED: meticulous attention to detail; strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, facilitation, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; ability to multitask, manage time and deadlines, and remain flexible and adaptable in unexpected situations in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment; good judgment with confidential information; support for MIT’s commitment to diversity and serving diverse constituents; experience with high school students and families; ability to collaborate in a team with diverse backgrounds and skillsets; written and oral Spanish language skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel) and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, and Dropbox); working knowledge with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Constant Contact, Mail Chimp); and MIT experience. Salary range: $60,000-65,000
OEOP currently works a hybrid schedule (two days in the office per week and three days remote).
Must be able to work a varied schedule with evening and weekend hours during program operation (i.e., be on-call) and live on campus during program execution.
