OFFICER, COMMUNICATIONS AND CONTENT, Solve, to join Solve, an MIT initiative with a mission to solve world challenges, and tell its story to external audiences, with a focus on engaging content, public relations, and brand strategy. Will create and oversee Solve’s content calendar (e.g., articles, op-eds, email messaging, press releases); build messaging guidance for Solver teams/members/staff, including vision, voice, brand guidelines, and campaign-specific initiatives; build external-facing editorial content (e.g., articles, emails, reports); build and manage partnerships with print, TV, and digital media outlets; build and oversee local, national, and international press lists and relationships; write, edit, and/or oversee writing of press releases, story pitches, op-eds, talking points, and interview guidance; roll out crisis communications responses; train staff in interview and media relations; manage relationships with Solve’s PR agency; collaborate on seeking out and reviewing opportunities for staff speaking engagements; collaborate on developing content strategy across platforms; keep Solve branding up-to-date; and design and improve key product pages and collateral. REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; three years’ experience leading communications content strategy for traditional press and digital; experience in a social and/or environmental impact organization; ability to pitch and place articles in traditional press and media, effectively manage vendor relationships and meet budget goals, and prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; excellent communication and writing skills with a focus on quality and attention to detail; background in SEO implementation and best practices; ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and work both independently and collaboratively; and interest in social impact and marketing trends.
