SALES DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT, MIT Press, to approach potential and current customers to qualify leads and promote the Press’ established and growing textbook offering. Responsibilities include qualifying leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities; contacting potential customers through phone and email; responding to all inbound inquiries; following up with prospective customers who have expressed interest in Press’ products; providing customer support to educate consumers on Press’ products, build brand awareness, and close potential business; acquiring, updating, and maintaining contact information and related activity within Salesforce; developing and maintaining effective sales reporting; contributing to creative and strategic process improvements, including outreach, sourcing methods, and sales tools; and other duties as needed.

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years’ administrative and/or sales experience; basic data management, analysis, and reporting skills; proficiency with Salesforce and Excel; demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction and service; excellent written and oral communication skills; and ability to work independently and on deadline. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, solid understanding of the latest digital and e-marketing tools, and academic publishing experience. Job #19639-5
