SURVIVOR ADVOCATE, Dean for Student Life (DSL)-Violence Prevention and Response, to provide support and advocacy to students impacted by sexual assault, relationship abuse, stalking, and sexual or gender-based harassment. Will be responsible for working directly with students who have been affected by interpersonal violence and advising students regarding options and on- and off-campus resources; assisting in providing crisis response, referrals, and support to complainants involved in a formal campus grievance process; assisting and/or accompanying students to local law enforcement for reporting, obtaining protective orders, and/or medical services; and serving as a resource on matters concerning sexual and relationship violence with the appropriate Institute resources, including the Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response Office (IDHR), MIT and local police departments, Student Mental Health and Counseling, and many others.

The mission of Violence Prevention and Response (VPR) is to end sexual and relationship violence by cultivating healthy communities and advocating for those impacted. Working with campus partners, VPR is committed to eliminating the inequities that threaten the lives of underserved communities who are disproportionately affected by sexual and domestic violence.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of experience working in higher education or closely related setting, demonstrated knowledge of interpersonal violence and victim advocacy, and a commitment to student wellbeing. Job #19428-5
Salary range: low to high $50K, depending upon experience
This is a temporary, one-year position, with the possibility of renewal depending upon funding.
