DIRECTOR, DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI), Sloan School of Management, to assume an inaugural position with primary responsibility for developing and executing a vision for a more inclusive and diverse community Will act as a trusted advisor and collaborate closely with members of the school’s senior leadership team; develop inclusive practices and policies; identify and develop new DEI programs for the MIT Sloan community and partner with its departments to implement and evaluate DEI action plans; collaborate with Sloan’s associate deans for DEI and serve as a thought leader with in-depth knowledge of DEI; help shape and implement Sloan’s vision of a respectful, inclusive community that embraces diversity; support the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse faculty, staff, and student body; and serve as a key ambassador for Sloan.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least seven years’ related experience in DEI; excellent oral and written communication skills, specifically related to communicating with a variety of internal/external stakeholders about DEI; comfort presenting to large, diverse audiences; demonstrable leadership experience in academic, corporate, and/or nonprofit organizations, effectively working with historically underrepresented groups (African American, Chicano/Latino, and Native American/Alaska Native); managerial experience, both with direct reports and cross-functional teams that do not have a direct, formal reporting structure; and a track record of program implementation, strategic planning, and managing across multiple important priorities. Must be able to work with a dynamic and diverse group of faculty, staff, and students; and to support and empower leaders who are less experienced in leading conversations about diversity and inclusion to build the school's capacity in equity leadership.
