DIRECTOR OF STUDENT FINANCIAL OPERATIONS, Student Financial Services (SFS), to oversee the twelve-member SFS operations team. This will include providing guidance, mentorship, and direction to staff; processing and disbursing all federal, state, and private aid; student account and loan collections; student employment; and technical system operations. Will create a strong and integrated service that includes Financial Aid, Student Receivables, and various Registrar’s Office functions, ensuring accurate and timely performance of transactional activities that support the entire department; and work in close collaboration with the director of Student Financial Counseling and director of Student Financial Services to ensure a seamless workflow and staff engagement. Will report to the director of Student Financial Services (SFS),
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least eight years of progressive student financial services experience at a higher education
institution; proven experience supervising a diverse and talented staff; interest and aptitude for technology and proficiency mastering new information systems; proven history of working collaboratively in a highly matrixed management environment; ability to take full ownership for driving projects, manage resources efficiently, and effectively delegate and prioritize; commitment to serving a diverse customer base, continuous process improvement, and ensuring access and affordability for MIT students and families; and excellent communication and presentation skills. Seek someone who demonstrates a strong bias for action and is able to analyze and interpret complex and multifaceted situations. High-level knowledge of financial aid processing and/or student account payments and student financial services-related systems (e.g., PowerFAIDS, Banner, TouchNet) preferred. Job #18293-11
