NEWSROOM EDITOR, MIT Technology Review (MIT TR), to help shape TR’s world-leading coverage of emerging technology. Will work with writers; guide a group of reporters with expertise in subjects ranging from AI to climate change, help them find the best stories and hone their copy, and encourage their growth as writers.
Will join TR just as its expanding into new beats and formats and while news stories, original reporting, and engrossing long-form features will remain, the position will offer an opportunity to push the envelope as an online outlet and produce a big, beautiful glossy magazine every two months.

REQUIRED: at least five years’ experience editing technology and/or science coverage for a newspaper, magazine, or online outlet; a bachelor’s degree in a related field; ability to manage and meet variety of shifting deadlines, from daily to weekly to bi-monthly; a desire to seek out new voices and perspectives on technology issues; a track record of working in a variety of story formats (both online and in print), including compelling profiles, explainers, through-written narrative features, news hits, infographics, photo essays, etc.; ability to deliver feedback effectively, including conversations that may be difficult; and attention to detail, facts, and accuracy.
