DIRECTOR, INTEGRATED MARKETING-AD SALES, MIT Technology Review (MITTR), to support MITTR’s rapidly growing sales organization and play a central role in the evolution of its ad product portfolio. Will use deep knowledge of the technology, business, and media landscape to create first-to-market ideas and captivating sales material that reflect MITTR’s culture, voice, and world-class journalism; forge relationships with a variety of teams/stakeholders and develop processes to efficiently leverage the right personnel for each project; and work with sales to translate and communicate client needs across the organization, with the goal of creating best-in-class advertising programs. Responsibilities include writing, designing, and developing integrated marketing proposals; using data, insights, and research to craft persuasive stories that support the programs; participating in brainstorming sessions with sales to answer incoming RFPs; gathering feedback on client proposals to understand necessary changes to improve future campaigns; devising initiatives aimed at promoting MITTR’s thought-leadership business unit; ensuring materials are delivered quickly and incorporate the best of what MITTR has to offer; liaising with the editorial team to create proactive opportunities; and expanding the existing ad product portfolio.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; at least five years’ integrated marketing experience at a technology or business publication; acumen for pitch presentation flow and ability to combine ideas and research to craft a compelling story; strong background in design; excellent organizational, communication, writing, and presentation development skills; detail orientation; thorough understanding of the media landscape; interest in technology and deep knowledge of its effect on business; and comfort working in a startup-like environment under tight deadlines.
