TECHNOLOGY LICENSING ASSOCIATE (TECHNOLOGY LICENSING OFFICER 1), Technology Licensing Office (TLO), to provide support for the physical sciences technology portfolio, administering existing intellectual property agreements for the TLO, working with and under the direction of technology licensing officers. Will serve as a liaison to various internal and external constituencies and communicate with faculty, students, industrial counterparts, university collaborators, patent attorneys, and internal operations teams on invention disclosures, licensing activities, finances associated with intellectual property agreements, and patent prosecution and maintenance matters; participate in licensing negotiations with industrial parties and draft basic agreement clauses and amendments reflecting negotiations for review by the licensing officers; negotiate and draft joint invention administration agreements, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and letters for review by officers; and enter information about intellectual property agreements into an internal database management system, keep internal records associated with agreements current, and generate associated reports. May also be asked to support technical marketing.
REQUIRED: a B.S. in physics or engineering; three years’ relevant experience; excellent priority management, proofreading, written and oral communication skills; ability to quickly communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly and to manage many parallel tasks and responsibilities despite interruptions; and comfort with ambiguity and an interest in clarifying and simplifying complexity.
