BENEFITS MANAGER, HEALTH AND WELFARE, Human Resources, experienced benefits professional to manage a team responsible for the strategy, design, pricing, compliance, and communications of MIT's health and welfare plans (i.e., medical, pharmacy carve-out program, dental, vision, life, AD&D, retiree medical and dental, global benefit programs, FSA, HSA, and voluntary fringe benefits). Reporting to the Director of Benefits will contribute to MIT's overall healthcare benefit strategy, analysis, and design decisions; audit plans for accuracy; responsible for open enrollment, including system-related changes (in conjunction with HRIS Manager), employee communication, and training; work with Manager, Integrated Benefit Services and Client Services team on providing information and responses to questions/concerns; manage relationships with third-party vendors and the review and execution of vendor contract in partnership with Office of General Counsel and Procurement; work closely with accounting and finance on monthly/quarterly reporting; remain current on and conduct impact studies of new state and federal legislation; maintain up-to-date plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and benefit summaries; act as point-of-contact for escalated claims resolution and policy/guideline interpretation; serve as liaison to MIT Medical for ongoing medical services and annual healthcare program pricing process; and serve on the Health Subcommittee.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (advanced degree or professional certifications preferred); at least seven years' relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in the administration of health, welfare, and fringe benefit programs; familiarity with benefits market and trends; knowledge of federal and state regulations and terminology governing benefit plans (ACA, COBRA, ERISA,HIPAA, IRC Code 125, etc.); demonstrated experience managing a team and commitment to supporting professional development of team members; strong organizational, time management, oral and written communication, and project management skills; excellent judgment and decision-making ability; exceptional customer service skills; and ability to manage multiple priorities and to lead, manage, and motivate a team. Experience with global benefits administration desired. SAP knowledge preferred. Job #16476-R
