Posting Description

SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), leads operations for the MIT side of SMART including managing SMART-MIT as an MIT Center (DLC) with all the requisite MIT functions and duties therein; supervises the staff and office operations in SMART-MIT HQ; oversees the administrative, financial, and reporting obligations necessary for SMART-MIT to support SMART-Singapore and SMART’s overall operations; be SMART-MIT’s liaison with the MIT offices responsible for SMART; fill the Ombudsperson role and will coordinate and encourage professional development for SMART-Singapore’s staff and junior researchers.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of administration or operations experience and/or project/program management. PREFERRED: MIT and international experience; demonstrated ability to promote team-building and facilitate consensus; ability to troubleshoot IT problems; experience with using financial reporting systems including Excel and databases; training in ombudsperson duties or dispute resolution; experience with Singapore; impeccable, intuitive, interpersonal skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing; grasp of the strategic aims of large research initiatives with a willingness to master the complex details of myriad systems and processes; and excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and shift priorities. This position will be based at MIT and require periodic travel to Singapore.

Must be able to attend and participate in early morning (7:00 a.m.) or late evening meetings (8:00 p.m.) to accommodate the time difference between Cambridge, MA, and Singapore.
