MANAGER OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP), to manage financial, human resources, facilities, and administration functions.  Will assume primary responsibility for managing the financial activities of the department with current annual activities exceeding $2.5M; work collaboratively with the executive director to develop and implement financial and operational strategies, create and track consolidated annual budgets, and oversee all financial activities (including financial reporting for corporate and foundation grants); oversee all office administration activities including space planning and maintenance matters; communicate and implement HR policies and processes in conjunction with the executive director; evaluate and analyze overall departmental processes, recommending improvements where needed; and serve as liaison to other departments across the Institute, e.g., OSP, VPR, VPF, HR, etc.  

OEOP inspires underrepresented and underserved precollege students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through rigorous summer and academic year enrichment programs.



REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance and/or operations; minimum of five years’ finance and operations experience; supervisory experience; strong program management experience; demonstrated commitment to diversity and serving diverse constituents; excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and visitors; advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office, e-mail, electronic calendaring, and internet browsing; experience with MIT financial and other systems, i.e., SAP, BrioQuery, and Data Warehouse; initiative; demonstrated problem solving skills; attention to detail; proficiency with accounting principles and processes; and a commitment to OEOP’s vision, mission, and values.  Must be able to multitask, set priorities, and manage competing demands; work effectively with minimal supervision and despite frequent interruptions; and exercise independent judgment and discretion with confidential information.  Job #14662
