DIRECTOR, CUSTOM CONTENT AND SPONSORED ADVERTISING, Technology Review, to direct and create the custom editorial, sponsored content, and advertising projects for across a wide array of media types, utilizing expertise and contacts in the creative, business, and technology communities. Will conceptualize and create--with sales team and clients--world-class original custom content produced across a variety of dynamic media types (branded micro-sites, online articles, research reports/surveys, video, white papers, infographics, interactive content collections, print advertorials, live events) to create extraordinarily engaging experiences for ad partners; build client relationships, participate in client meetings and calls, and work with the sales team and leadership on concepts and language for custom work proposals; oversee content production from concept development through product delivery; develop and manage a network of freelance writers, copy editors, researchers, videographers, and designers; and work with the design and product development teams to ensure that projects are compelling across all platforms. May write, edit, and copy-edit other noneditorial materials.
REQUIRED: B.A./B.S. in journalism, science, technology, business, or related area; at least seven years’ traditional and rich-media content creation experience in the fields of science, business, or technology; deep understanding of how technology affects business; demonstrated excellence producing a variety of editorial products on tight deadlines; ability to conceptualize, write, and edit stories that will satisfy a demanding, intelligent, technology-savvy and highly literate audience; strong time management skills; and ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with tight timelines while crafting new proposals, often on short notice. Experience with custom publishing, marketing, research and/or advertising a plus; as is ability to oversee a growing focus on research and survey development. Job #14539-Q
