DIRECTOR OF AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT, MIT Technology Review (MITTR), to formulate and manage strategy to scale for the MIT Technology Review audience, cultivate user engagement, increase user loyalty, and optimize conversion. Will be responsible for developing new and loyal audiences who engage with content across multiple channels and for developing a cohesive strategy for content that drives audience growth and engagement consistent with MITTR brand. Specific duties include driving site traffic through a wide variety of channels; determining KPIs; creating measurement plans and reporting; identifying new opportunities, data-driven initiatives, and best practices; using analytics and metrics to deliver actionable insights; and project management of all audience tough points. Will work cross-functionally and with leadership.
REQUIRED: a B.A./B.S. in marketing, marketing communications, or related field; at least seven years’ experience with major website, online marketing agency, audience development agency, or media or publishing organization; thorough understanding of online business models and strategies; proficiency with direct response principles and practices; mastery of major social platforms and point of view as to how social media is evolving for different audience segments; ability to articulate analytically-driven big ideas; hands-on experience managing digital audience acquisition programs; fluency with Google Analytics and similar tools and an interest in experimenting with new platforms; and ability to pivot quickly and implement new processes with speed and accuracy.
