POLICY MANAGER, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Policy Group, to join a group that works to translate research by J-PAL affiliates into actionable poverty alleviation policies around the world.  Duties include meeting with, presenting to, and building relationships with key partners in governments, NGOs, and multilateral aid agencies worldwide; reviewing academic literature and conducting literature and cost-effectiveness reviews; creating policy memos and publications that “translate” J-PAL’s economic research into policy lessons; acting as lead staff on a J-PAL program area and/or serve as primary liaison between J-PAL Global and a JPAL regional offices; helping to recruit and supervise junior staff, organize conferences, and teach at J-PAL courses; and handling other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED:  a bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, or a closely related field and at least four years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and three years of experience; attention to detail; advanced writing and presentation skills; proven ability to multitask and successfully complete projects on tight deadlines with little supervision; and the ability to supervise staff and manage projects independently.  The position requires clear, precise nontechnical writing skills and an effective spoken communication and presentation style.  Graduate coursework in microeconomics, econometrics, and/or development economics desired.  Knowledge of Spanish, French, or other major languages a plus.  Job #14254
