EXHIBIT DEVELOPER, MIT Museum, to assume responsibility for supporting the development of museum exhibits through exhibit research, content, and experience development.  Duties will include researching educational, scientific, and technological content; developing and documenting exhibit experience concepts and their operation; advocating for educational and visitor experience goals as represented through design; writing and editing exhibit copy; assisting with exhibit prototyping and conduct evaluation; developing project reports and other communication materials; researching exhibit resources and assisting with development of exhibit ideas and programs; researching, tracking, and managing artifacts as needed; developing scripts and working closely with multimedia producer; ensuring that exhibits are experientially engaging and scientifically accurate; project managing logistics and communication with internal teams and outside vendors as assigned; and meeting project budgets and schedules. Will report to the director of galleries and exhibitions.  

The position is ideal for someone experienced in dynamic environments that interpret art and science with an emphasis on interactive experiences and the interpretation of collections.  A full job description is available on Museum website.

REQUIRED: B.A./B.S. (M.A./M.S. preferred) in science, math, engineering, science education, social sciences, or a field related to informal teaching and learning; willingness and ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with researchers and nonspecialists; a minimum of three years of experience developing museum exhibitions, preferably in interactive science or art environments; excellent research, organizational, interpersonal, and oral and  written communication skills; and excellent technical proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PPT, and Google Docs.  Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, task-focused, and able to manage multiple demands.  Job #14147-O
