Posting Description

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE 2, Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism (LCAU), will work on ongoing projects including planning and conducting research that advances innovation in urban environments, as well as collaborating with the LCAU Director to develop new research initiatives around our current tri-annual research theme on energy in the urban environment. Given LCAU’s commitment to innovation in teaching, there may also be opportunities to contribute to MIT courses on urban design, GIS, data visualization, and the relationship between technology (including AI) and the urban environment.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Master’s degree in architecture, urban design, urban planning, geography, or a related field; a minimum of four years of direct research experience; evidence of original or collaborative scholarship; excellent research skills and outstanding written/verbal communication; demonstrated project management and exhibition experience; and experience working across diverse disciplines and with broad networks of collaborators. PREFERRED: Experience in producing scholarly publications, exhibitions, and interactive multi-media.
