Posting Description

LABORATORY AIDE, will be responsible for performing routine assignments related to the glass washing facility; collecting, washing, rinsing and sterilizing various types of laboratory glassware (i.e., beakers, vials, pipettes, etc.) for use in micro-biological, tissue culture, bacteriological, biochemical, etc., experiments; using all related equipment, machines and storing clean glassware; and ensuring laboratory areas are clean and orderly for the conducting of experiments. After demonstrated experience, may work independently setting work priorities, maintain supplies, may give direction to others.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; some experience in scientific glass washing; be conscientious and have ability to follow directions; ability to work under general directions and as experience is acquired, will work without direct supervision for extended periods.

Working Conditions: Employee must be physically capable of lifting or manipulating containers of approximately 50 lbs. and of working while standing for long periods of time.
