Posting Description

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT, Sloan School of Management, will be responsible for the organization and coordination of office operations, procedures, and resources to facilitate effectiveness and efficiency for the Office of the Dean; prioritize and execute tasks; coordinate with deans’ office staff in support of both their own projects and the projects of other members of the team; and take ownership of financial transactions, travel expense reporting, requests for payment, vendor management, course support, event support, space coordination, and suite operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of five years of administrative office or related experience; strong organizational and problem-solving skills; detail oriented; Self-motivated, service oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; outstanding interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage a high volume of work; ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, follow-through and meet deadline; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion; and comfortable interacting with high-visibility executives, highly motivated students, and leaders of other MIT offices. PREFERRED: Understanding of MIT policies and procedures; experience with financial administration.

Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
